July 11, 2009 · Posted in Plus Size FAQs
I thіnk іt іѕ a conspiracy against thе bіg girls. Thе skinny girls аrе afraid wе mіght hаνе a bit οf style οr something.
Thеу ѕау bіg girls ѕhουld nοt wear stripes, spandex, gaudy prints οr boot leg jeans. Guess whаt? Thats аbουt аll thеу sell іn plus size stores!!!
Whats up wіth thаt?

All womens plus size clothes dont look like granny clothes. My mother is a plus size woman and she has beautiful clothes. Se dresses sexy for size. She mainly shops at Ashley Stewart but there are alot of other stores that have sections for Plus Size women such as Simply Fashions and Rainbow. You just have to shop around. My mom wears stripes, bootleg jeans and alot of toher things thay say that big girls shouldnt wear but she actually looks better than the smaller girls.
Clothes from Torrid are very fashionable. Sometimes I wish I was larger so I could wear them
lane bryant always has pretty good clothes for bigger women. i’m very busty (having a BR august 1st) and have to buy large shirts to cover them. they’re not granny style, though.
maybe there’s stores you’ve been missing!
u could go to
http://ashleystewart.com/AS/
torrid.com
and other places but i know what u mean because i see it all the time i dont have a problem with plus size women to me their just like everyone else
Maybe your looking at the wrong stores.
Your going to the wrong stores, there are many shops that sell to the full figured person and you can look just as hip and lovely as others. One of the stores is Cato’s, they have fantastic clothes and so in style. I can’t think of any other names, but they are out there and they have an amazing array of beautiful clothing and not the guady flower prints. Good Luck in your search.
It’s because no one with taste really likes those clothes.
That style is being used to influence you into wanting the skinny girls clothes and thus dieting to get there.
Its a mechanism to drive you crazy!!
I am an odd size…. a 14/15. I am the biggest Junior size, or the smallest Plus size. This makes shopping rather difficult at times. I have found that the best way to buy trendy plus size clothes is to find a store that has a "Junior Plus Size" section. Sears and Macys have both started this. Old Navy also has sizes up to a 24 which is awesome. AND Fashion Bug and Torrid are still a favorites, too.
So, nice clothes are out there for us big girls, you just have to know where to look.
And, just to continue on the subject, I do think that there are some things plus size women should NOT wear. Its not about weather or not something fits you, its matter of weather or not something FLATTERS your body. Alot of plus size girls think that they should be able to wear the same things the thinner girls do, and it just makes them look worse. You can find clothing that is fashionable and sexy even but it needs to be done in a tasteful and classy fashion. And that goes for all girls, big and small.
Get out of the freaking store!!
There is lots more choice out there for us curvy girls. You can be plus size and still be sexy and stylish.
As already mentioned Torrid and Old Navy have some cute clothes, plus check out SWAK Designs, Alight.
I agree it’s not what you wear but how you wear it. We can wear stripes, these are a big trend this season. And boot leg jeans can look fab with our curves. Add sexy heels to give you some height and elongate your figure.
My Squidoo Lenses below have lots of links to plus size clothing websites which have some great looking clothes.
The website http://www.fashionarea.info has very relevant info related to your query. Check it out.
